Cinema Vérité reveals Entrepreneurship lineup

The 14th edition of the Cinema Vérité, Iran’s major international documentary festival, has revealed the lineup of its Entrepreneurship Documentary section.

A total of 16 documentary films are selected to go on screen at the Entrepreneurship Documentary section.

The section presents documentaries about entrepreneurship, production leap, innovative businesses, online sales, production boom, and the prosperity of the national economy among others.

Some 50 percent of filmmakers in the section are women.

8. ‘The Unfinished Way of Asqar Qandchi’ by Mostafa Razzaq-Karimi
9. ‘New Day’ by Maryam Khodaee
10. ‘It Is Raining Under This Umbrella’ by Katayoun Jahangiri
11. ‘Seyyed Javad’ by Mohammad-Reza Dehestani
12. ‘Vomnan's Bride’ by Fatemeh Marzbani
13. ‘F-A’ by Farshad Ektesabi
14. ‘Mehdi’ by Banafsheh Jahed
15. ‘Bone Appetite’ by Pouriya Sanmari
16. ‘One Woman, One City’ by Shohreh Sajjadiyeh

Earlier, the Cinema Vérité organizers announced that a selection of documentaries praised at 2020 edition of several international events would be reviewed during a special section titled “World’s Best”.

This year, the event has also dedicated a special section to screening documentaries on the COVID-19 pandemic.

The organizers of the festival have received more than 130 submissions on the pandemic in the COVID-19 category.

The top works in this category will be honored at the closing ceremony, while the international section of the festival is non-competitive this year.

The 14th edition of the Cinema Vérité will be held online due to the coronavirus outbreak on December 8-15, 2020.
